That is why I came up with the idea of the Homeowner Completion Deck about fifteen years ago.
Are you able to install decking and railings once the wood frame is in place? We offer a homeowner completion option. Briefly, we will: dig the footings, mix and pour the concrete, bolt and flash the ledger board to the house, install the posts, beams, and floor joists with all the necessary hardware, frame the stairs, advice you on railing and decking installation, and give you a complete materials list. Sound to good to be true? Well, there is more to laying the decking and installing an attractive railing than meets the eye! However, if you are fairly handy and have some basic tools (drill, circular saw, miter saw) this option may be for you.
We will not purchase the materials for you (we are not in the lumber sales business) nor will we "hold your hand" through the building process. You must have a "reasonable" carpentry competancy level to tackle this type of project. We will supply drawings for you to submit to your local building department. We do our part, then we're gone.
